The Juno Awards were established in 1971 to honour the achievements of Canadian Artists. In Canada, the Junos have the same stature as the Grammys do in the United States. In fact, many Canadian Juno Winners have also won or been nominated for Grammys, including Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, etc, to name just a few
